How it works

From your question to your next step

Here is what happens when you ask YourNurses.io a question, and where people and a second AI check the answer.

Step by step

How YourNurses.io Works

Simple, secure and designed to help you take the next step.

  1. Ask a Question

Tell us what's on your mind, in your own language.

  2. Get AI Guidance

Receive clear, plain-language AI guidance with an urgency level.

  3. Explore Your Options

Find affordable care or ask a nurse to look at your question.

  4. Take the Next Step

Save a summary, set reminders and get continued support.

What happens to your message

Every message goes through the same steps, in this order.

  1. An emergency check comes first

Your message is checked for signs of an emergency, such as chest pain, trouble breathing or thoughts of suicide. If one is found, you see emergency numbers and crisis lines straight away, before any AI answer.

  2. The right specialist answers

Your question goes to the specialist mode that fits it best, such as medicines, pregnancy or child health. It may ask up to three short questions to understand you better.

  3. Reviewed sources are used and shown

When our clinical team has approved health information on the topic, the assistant uses it and lists the sources under the answer. Draft articles that have not been approved are never used. When no approved source fits, the answer comes from the AI's general knowledge and shows no sources.

  4. Every answer has an urgency level

Each answer starts with how soon to act, so the most important thing is never buried.

  5. A second AI checks the answer

A separate AI reviewer reads the answer next to your message, looking for missed warning signs, unsafe advice and false certainty. If it finds a problem, you see a correction.

  6. A nurse, when you want one

You can send your conversation to a nurse. The assistant writes a short summary so the nurse can help faster. You do not need to give your name.

What the urgency levels mean

Self-care
You can probably look after this at home. The answer says which warning signs mean you should get help.
See a clinic
Book a visit with a clinic, health centre or pharmacist in the next few days.
Urgent today
Get seen by a healthcare professional today.
Emergency now
Call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department now.

With a free account, you can also

  • Save conversations

Keep your conversations and come back to them. Delete one, or everything, at any time.

  • Get a summary

Turn a conversation into a short summary with questions to take to your clinician.

  • Keep documents

Store test results and letters in a private, encrypted document store and ask about them.

  • Set reminders

Medicine, appointment and follow-up reminders in the app, by email or by text message where available.

What the assistant cannot do

  • It cannot examine you, diagnose a condition or prescribe medicine.
  • It can be wrong. If an answer doesn't fit what you are feeling, trust yourself and get care.
  • Nobody watches conversations live. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.
  • Nurses reply when one is available, which may not be straight away.
